An Immersive Heritage-based Game for Family and Friends
Experience working life on the Banks Peninsula at the turn of the 20th century. Be transported back in time to the small rural seaside community of Okains Bay in the early 1900s and take part in a unique game of heritage-based challenges and experiences to find your place in village life.
‘A Place Called Home’ is modelled on traditional treasure hunts, TV game shows such as “The Amazing Race” and the popular app “Stardew Valley”.
Immerse yourself in early village life as you perform heritage-based challenges to gain your place in the community in an immersive heritage game. You will work with the ‘locals’ using heritage equipment to carry out specific tasks, including blacksmithing, waikawa/weaving, butter making, home chores, ropemaking and much more. There will be six individual and group tasks to perform, each taking up to 20 minutes each.
Teams of up to five family and friends – or solo players – are encouraged to register early to secure your place in what will be a fun day out at Okains Bay Museum. Team numbers will be limited for maximum enjoyment.
$75 per team of up to five people. Children are welcome to participate but must be accompanied by adults.
Tickets available via Eventfinda or via your local Akaroa iSITE (official Eventfinda agent)
