The Bistro joins our Cellar Door and is a ‘wine and food’ heaven for a more relaxed bite. Busy and vibrant yet utterly unfussy and comfortable. The classic bistro cuisine are matched by Hans' amazing collection of fine handcrafted wines, most available by the glass. Oh, and did we mention that our chefs bake the most heavenly loaves of crunchy breads and whip up some pretty delicious sweet treats. Of course, there is some matching sweet wine... Enjoy 'al fresco' dining in summer under the dappled light of Plane trees within magnificent Mediterranean-style gardens. The perfect romantic setting with clipped box hedges, lavish roses, lavender, olive trees, beautiful water features and garden art is framed by our organic vineyard covered in wildflowers and a breath-taking mountain view. A feast for all senses - freshly prepared food, hand-crafted fine wines, caring service and stunning grounds evoke a Mediterranean lifestyle under the Marlborough sun. The iconic and beautiful Gourmet Restaurant was opened in 2000 for guests to enjoy Hans' wines - complex, structured, committed food wines - the way they were intended; shared among friends, with fine food, in relaxing surroundings of a roaring fire or sunny verandah.
